How first the magazine Balance reported, the store at Bahnhofstrasse 62 is being converted so that carmaker Hyundai can set up a showroom there for its Genesis luxury brand. Franz Carl Weber had moved out of the property in 2016; in the meantime, the space had been given to various pop-up stores. Initially, there had been speculation that fashion label Navyboot would move into the property, which belongs to the Gaydoul Group, which owned the property.

In the meantime, however, Swiss Life owns the building, and there the information that Hyundai was planning a showroom for the Genesis brand was also confirmed. A spokesperson said they were pleased that Genesis was a new and very attractive brand coming to Bahnhofstrasse. The fact that an international brand is deliberately opening a showroom on Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich shows the attractiveness of this street. It will be the first showroom of a car brand on Bahnhofstrasse. (ah)
