Zurich: City wants to buy three properties in Affoltern
The city of Zurich wants to acquire three properties in the Affoltern neighborhood in order to increase the number of non-profit apartments.

According to a statement by the city of Zurich, the owner of the three properties In Böden 169, Wehntalerstrasse 518-522 and In Böden is a community of heirs. According to the information, the properties are directly adjacent to an area that the city has given to the Waidmatt building cooperative under building rights and to the property of the Riedenhalden housing estate (Stiftung Alterswohnungen der Stadt Zürich). The total area is around 11,300 square meters, of which 6,500 square meters is undeveloped building land, and the remainder is occupied by four apartment buildings with a total of 44 apartments. For the acquisition of the properties, the city council is asking the municipal council to approve the purchase agreement with the community of heirs and to authorize a supplementary credit of CHF 37 million.
