Morschach: Reka takes over Swiss Holiday Park
As of the beginning of 2019, the Swiss travel fund Reka will take over the operation of the Swiss Holiday Park in Morschach (SZ), the largest vacation and leisure resort in Switzerland.
The Swiss Holiday Park is owned by Credit Suisse Real Estate Fund Hospitality, and the purchase of the operating company will not change this, Reka announced. Swiss Holiday Park will continue to operate as a Reka subsidiary, it adds.
With 260 employees and a turnover of around CHF 24 million in 2017, the resort is one of the largest employers in the canton of Schwyz. The Swiss Holiday Park records up to 850 overnight guests in hotel, guest house or vacation apartment on peak days, according to Reka. The resort's facilities include four restaurants, two bars and various halls for seminars, banquets or meetings with up to 360 people, as well as a large indoor leisure area with sports and wellness facilities.
The owner of Swiss Holiday Park AG, Walter Trösch, had been looking for a "Swiss successor solution" for his life's work. In December 2018, the Reka Board of Directors approved the purchase of the operating company, the amount of which was not disclosed. (ah)
