Like The Covenant reported, the Artisa Group wants to turn the currently vacant former EY location at Schwarztorstrasse 40 into a building with 173 micro apartments. In addition to the small apartments, which are aimed at tenants who will only be living in Bern for a few months, a bar with lounge and other meeting places will also be created in the building. Furthermore, services such as cleaning and laundry services or internal car and bike sharing will be offered.

The micro-apartments in the former EY building are not intended to be luxury apartments, but will also be accessible to the middle class, the newspaper article continues. According to a spokesperson for the Artisa Group, the target group is people who want to live close to the city center for a short time but cannot afford the expensive apartments in the city center. In addition to so-called digital nomads and people who work in the city for a short time, this could also include older people, for example grandparents who support their children's family for a certain period of time but still want to have their own apartment.

According to the newspaper, there are currently just under 500 temporary apartments in Bern, for example on Alpenstrasse, in the old town or in Wankdorf. However, most of them are expensive business apartments, luxury apartments or vacation homes. (ah)
