Zurich: FFHS moves into the Gleisarena
The Distance Learning University of Applied Sciences Switzerland FFHS will open a campus in the new Gleisarena building at Zurich's main train station in 2021.

The FFHS wants to accommodate both classrooms and around 50 workplaces in the SBB's Gleisarena, the university says. The tenant development under the management of FFHS Immobilien comprises the seven-story head building and one floor of the six-story long building.
According to the distance learning university, the new space at Zurich's main train station is designed for a flexible use concept that also includes the rental of working and learning spaces for institutions and private individuals. "The location directly on platform 18 and facing Zollstrasse is highly attractive both for education providers and for companies and private individuals looking for space for meetings, seminars or flexible working space," says Yvonne Ganz, head of real estate at FFHS.
The FFHS aims to complete the move from its current location in Regensdorf by spring 2021.
The university is also planning another campus in the Rhonesand district in Brig. A new building is to be constructed here that will combine research, teaching and administration, it says. The building application was submitted by the FFHS and FernUni Switzerland in October last year, and the planned start of operations is in spring 2021. (ah)
