The Lischenmoos commercial area to the west of the Gümligen train station is the largest and most important development area in Muri bei Bern, according to the municipality. Here, a zone with mixed residential and work use is to be created - provided that the various private landowners cooperate.

As a first implementation step, the construction of a high-rise building is being discussed on the A1 site, directly next to the Moosstrasse traffic circle and south of the train station. The municipality could release a property for this purpose and sell it to a private landowner - HRS Real Estate AG - who would strive for a rapid constructional realization in the sense of the master plan, the municipality's statement continues.

HRS Investment, which is part of HRS Real Estate, has owned part of this building site for eleven years and wants to acquire the other part, which is currently still owned by the municipality. With the sale of the municipally owned parcel to HRS Investment, a plot of land would be available that would allow for a superstructure that meets the urban development quality criteria of the master plan, according to the municipality. To this end, an architectural competition is to be launched in April.

Parliament has approved the land deal; the decision is subject to an optional referendum. The building next to the Mooskreisel, where the children's and youth center is currently located, would have to make way for the high-rise development. (ah)
