Zug: New tenant for townhouse at Kolinplatz

When the Zug city administration moves to Gubelstrasse 22 at the end of June, the townhouse on Kolinplatz will be re-rented. FinTech Seba Crypto will be using the building from November 1.

Seba will move its headquarters to the Stadthaus. On the first floor, which is currently used by the residents' registration office, Seba plans to hold events on topics such as blockchain and cryptotechnology and offer consulting services.

After the administration moves out in the summer of 2019, the building will undergo a fire protection upgrade, followed by security-related improvements on the part of the tenants. The measures will be implemented in coordination with the city of Zug and the Office for the Protection of Monuments and Archaeology, the city says.

Seba is already based in Zug and employs around 40 people. The company aims to establish itself as a Finma-licensed bank offering regulated crypto, blockchain and traditional financial market products and services.

The city of Zug is a pioneer in blockchain and crypto technology: for several years now, bitcoin has been accepted as a means of payment for services provided by the residents' registration office, and a blockchain-based digital ID has also been made possible for all residents of the city. (ah)
