Villa Krämerstein on the shores of Lake Lucerne will be used in the future by the investment company Apeiron. It wants to set up its company headquarters there and make other rooms available to start-ups.

According to the municipality of Horw (LU), the lease includes Villa Krämerstein, the gatehouse, the gardener's house and the boathouse. Engel & Völkers assisted the municipality with the lease.

However, the park of the property would remain open to the public. In addition, the parties have agreed that part of the leased buildings will be made available for public use. In what framework this will be, is not yet determined.

Villa Krämerstein was built in 1786 by the floss silk entrepreneur Balthasar Falcini in classicist style and initially served as the manor house of wealthy Lucerne residents. In 1982, the municipality of Horw acquired the property, and from 1984 to 2005, the MAZ School of Journalism had established a training center in the villa. From 2006 to 2016, the International School of Zug and Lucerne then rented the premises.

Currently, the Villa Krämerstein is being used temporarily as a school building. According to the municipality, the interim use will end this summer, when the rooms will be renovated and converted. It is expected that Apeiron Holdings will be able to move into Villa Krämerstein in spring 2020. (ah)
