Laax: Start of construction for wellness hostel

The indoor swimming pool in Laax (GR) needs to be renovated, and the municipality wants to combine the pool with a youth hostel in the course of the renovation. The model for the idea is the wellnessHostel4000 & Aqua Allalin in Saas-Fee - according to the Swiss Youth Hostels, the first hostel in the world to offer wellness facilities.

In the project development, the municipality of Laax is acting as the building owner, while the Swiss Youth Hostels are the operators. A design by SSA Architekten from Basel is being implemented.

The new Aua Grava will include an indoor swimming pool, wellness, fitness and a wellness hostel. For this purpose, the swimming pool will be completely renewed and supplemented with a wellness area of almost 900 square meters and a fitness center. In addition to the sauna and steam bath, relaxation rooms are planned, as well as an inner courtyard flooded with daylight and a relaxation room with panoramic glazing.

The wellnessHostel3000 will have 158 beds with a wide mix of rooms from rooms with six beds with shower on the floor to rooms with four beds and family rooms with shower/WC and double rooms with shower/WC. There will also be a restaurant, bar and lounge.

In November 2020, the "wellnessHostel3000 & Aua Grava" is scheduled to open. (ah)
