Zurich: CS puts Haus zur Werdmühle up for sale
According to a media report, Credit Suisse wants to part with the Haus zur Werdmühle in downtown Zurich.
How first Finews.ch reportedCredit Suisse is looking for a buyer for the property with around 4,800 sqm of rental space on Werdmühlestrasse/ Uraniastrasse in downtown Zurich, not far from Bahnhofstrasse. The transaction is being accompanied by JLL.
According to the report, the major bank intends to sell the property and lease back the banking and office areas over the next ten years. The branch office is to be retained, as are the offices on the upper floors, according to the report. In the Haus zur Werdmühle, the former branch of the CS predecessor bank SKA, retired general managers of Credit Suisse have their offices, can attend to their duties there and have access to a secretariat.
In recent years, Credit Suisse has divested itself of some prestigious properties in Zurich. In 2016, for example, Leuenhof went to Swiss Prime Investment Foundation and The Swatch Group acquired the Peterhof in 2014. Previously, the Üetlihof and the Metropol, among others, had already been sold. Among others, CS still owns the Savoy Hotel on Paradeplatz and the historic headquarters, the Lichthof. (ah)
