Four-star hotel planned in Rheinfelden

According to a report by the New Fricktaler Newspaper according to the entrepreneur Mathias Finck, owner of the tour operator "Spar mit! Reisen", is planning a new building at Gerstenweg 5 in Rheinfelden.

The building will comprise a four-star hotel with 60 rooms, four suites and 40 apartments. Finck intends to sell the apartments in condominium ownership; the hotel will take over the rental, operation and maintenance.

The first floor of the new G 5 building will also house a restaurant with seating for around 200 people, as well as an in-house brewery with a beer garden. A kiosk, a baking station and a souvenir store are also planned. The second floor of the new six-story building is to be occupied by the tour operator, the newspaper report continues. A travel agency will be set up on the first floor.

The project, which will cost around CHF 16 million, would more than double the number of hotel beds in Rheinfelden, according to the newspaper report. If everything goes smoothly, construction can begin in March 2020. The opening would then be in spring 2021. (ah)
