Hiag completes the 'Porte Sud' site
Hiag Immobilien AG has acquired Jaeger et Bosshard SA to round off its 'Porte Sud' site in Geneva.
As part of the transaction, a 4,457 sqm plot of land held by Jaeger et Bosshard SA under a building lease will go to Hiag, whose site in the Lancy district of Geneva will then cover a total area of 13,362 sqm after the expansion.
Hiag is currently the only private owner of 'Porte Sud', which is located in the immediate vicinity of the Stade de Genève. The canton of Geneva and the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) also own shares in the site, which is adjacent to the Geneva-Annemasse (F) railroad line and the future Lancy Bachet station.
Hiag is acquiring Jaeger et Bosshard SA, which specializes in metal recycling, from the Thommen Group, which, according to the company's information, will take over the operational management of Jaeger et Bosshard SA at its current location under mandate until further notice. A suitable new site is currently being sought for Jaeger et Bosshard SA.
The 'Porte Sud' site is located within the perimeter of the Praille Acacias Vernets neighborhood plan, the largest and oldest industrial Geneva neighborhood, which is to be developed into a mixed district in the coming years. (bw)
