Aargau: Digitec Galaxus expands logistics space
Online retailer Digitec Galaxus has opened a 10,000 sqm warehouse in Dintikon (AG), near Lenzburg. It is planning another logistics property in neighboring Wohlen.
The warehouse in Dintikon is designed to accommodate large goods such as televisions or furniture - a total of around 6,000 individual items, each of which takes up at least the area of a Europallet, Digitec Galaxus says. The property is three stories high, and the floors are connected by two goods lifts, each of which can lift a loaded forklift.
The warehouse in Dintikon is just a few kilometers away from the online retailer's previous central warehouse in Wohlen. According to the company, the two warehouses together cover more than 50,000 square meters of storage space.
Meanwhile, another warehouse for small products such as cell phone cases or flashlights is being built in Wohlen. A fully automated shuttle warehouse for 180,000 products is expected to go into operation there from spring 2020. (ah)
