Lucerne: Allreal plans residential project for 80 million
Allreal plans to build an apartment building with 77 condominiums on the Eggen site in Lucerne. The investment volume is around CHF 80 million.
Allreal has been the owner of the approximately 8,400-square-meter property in the Büttenen district of Lucerne for just over a year. Three apartment buildings built in the 1980s with a total of 23 apartments are currently still standing there.
A study commission carried out by Allreal together with the owners of the neighboring Eggenhof property was won by a project by Caruso St John Architects. It envisages a new five-story building with a total of 77 condominiums and a floor space of around 7,500 square meters. Plans call for a mix of apartments ranging from 2.5- to 5.5-room units. The architecture of the earth-toned building is characterized by a strong reference to the surrounding landscape, Allreal writes in a statement.
Based on the winning project, a guideline project will be developed in the next few months, which will serve as the basis for the private design plan. It is to be submitted at the end of this year. Construction is expected to start in spring 2021. Completion of the apartment building is planned for early 2023. (ah)
