Winterthur: SPS upgrades the Red Tower
Swiss Prime Site wants to upgrade its site around the Red Tower in Winterthur. The Group company Wincasa is taking over the implementation.
The Red Tower, a landmark of Winterthur, is to be further developed over the next two years. In 2017, Swiss Prime Site Immobilien, which owns the Red Tower, had also acquired the neighboring Mäander buildings. Now the area as a whole is to be upgraded.
Wincasa, which is part of Swiss Prime Site, has defined a catalog of measures for this purpose, according to the company. Among other things, the company wants to expand the range of services on the site with a new restaurant and make it more attractive with a large outdoor dining area. The inner courtyard will be landscaped and provided with seating and shading measures.
The exterior façade of the Red Tower is expected to be renovated by mid-2020, and a new sprinkler system and building management system are also planned. For the basement, an optimal mix of services for tenants and visitors to the site is currently being investigated.
The upgrading projects are already having an effect, Wincasa is convinced: from autumn this year, the Red Tower and the adjacent buildings will be fully let. No details were given about the future tenants. (ah)
