After seven years of development and planning, construction of the Glasi quarter in Bülach (ZH) began on 28 June. The development partners Baugenossenschaft Glattal Zürich, Logis Suisse and Steiner are building an urban quarter with a mix of residential and commercial space. The investor is the Steiner Investment Foundation.

Both affordable cooperative apartments and condominiums are being built; the target groups are singles, couples, families and shared apartments.

According to the project managers, the buildings for a hotel, a care centre with apartments for the elderly and a crèche have already been let. In addition, shops, craft businesses, offices and restaurants are to be located in the Glasi district. The first areas are to be occupied from 2021. (ah)
