The building on Schwarztorstrasse will be converted over the next two years, and around 190 furnished micro-apartments will be created on 7,200 sqm, Artisa says. Bern is thus the fourth city after Zurich, Lugano and Lausanne in which the company will implement the micro-living concept.

"For us, the acquisition of the property on Schwarztortrasse is of strategic importance in order to be present with micro-apartments also in Bern," says Andrea Blotti, member of the Board of Directors of the Group. The location in the immediate vicinity of the center is ideal for offering affordable and fully equipped micro apartments for a heterogeneous target group, he adds.

Artisa is on course for expansion with the concept: around 1,000 micro apartments are planned throughout Switzerland in the next two years. Recently, the company also opened a branch in Germany to implement projects there. (ah)
