According to regional media reports, the Hotel Central, located near the bus loop in Kriens, will remain a hotel in the future. Original plans to rent out the rooms on the upper floors as "business apartments" are thus no longer valid.

The new owner of the Art Nouveau building, Oliver Blättler of Blolife Estate AG, based in Hergiswil NW, wants to convert and renovate the property, he said, reports the "Luzerner Zeitung. According to the building application currently pending with the city of Kriens, the kitchen is to be replaced and the interior of the 21 rooms renewed, among other things. Also planned is a 30-square-meter extension in the basement and first floor for a new restaurant concept. Blättler expects construction costs of around 2 million Swiss francs. Information on the future operator is not yet known. (bw)
