Zurich: Hotel chain CitizenM opens first Swiss property
On August 1, the Dutch hotel chain CitizenM opened a hotel in downtown Zurich. The owner of the property is the UBS fund Sima.

More than a year ago, UBS had already told Sima, that CitizenM will open a so-called micro hotel in the property Talacker 42 not far from Paradeplatz. The house has now been opened for the federal holiday.
The first floor of the property features a living room, lounge and bar, as well as conference and meeting rooms. The total of 160 rooms are spread over the first to fifth floors.
The Dutch hotel chain CitizenM prefers to open its sites in top locations. While the public areas of the hotels are generously furnished, the rooms themselves tend to be small and designed to save space. The chain's first property opened in 2008 at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, and since then has added locations in London, New York, Paris and Taipei, among others. According to media reports, a second Swiss hotel is to open in Geneva next year. (ah)
