Geneva: IntercityHotel in the planning stage
The Deutsche Hospitality hotel group plans to open the second IntercityHotel brand hotel in Switzerland in Geneva in 2022.
According to Deutsche Hospitality, the IntercityHotel Geneva Airport is to be built in the new Quartier de l'Étang between the airport and the city center. It will include 270 rooms, a wellness and fitness area, a restaurant, a meeting area and a crew lounge, it adds.
The target group of the hotel is to be both business travelers and tourists, says Thomas Willms, CEO of Deutsche Hospitality. The Quartier de l'Étang stands for sustainable development and is overall a perfect location for further expansion in Switzerland. By 2022, 870 residential units, public facilities and stores will be built there on eleven hectares.
The hotel in Geneva will be the second IntercityHotel in Switzerland: The IntercityHotel Zurich Airport is scheduled to open next year. (ah)
