Kriens: Mattenhof officially opened
In Lucerne South, after more than ten years of planning and construction, the Mattenhof neighborhood was officially opened - a project by Mobimo and the investment group CSA Real Estate Switzerland.

Mobimo and CSA Real Estate Switzerland have realized the Mattenhof Quarter on an area of around 21,000 square meters. It was built according to the plans of Lucerne-based architectural firms Scheitlin Syfrig Architekten and Schärli Architekten. Mobimo developed the largest part of the project for its own portfolio; CSA Real Estate Switzerland acquired the Matteo sub-project in 2016.
In total, Mattenhof comprises 275 apartments, more than 21,000 sqm of office space, almost 7,000 sqm of commercial or retail space and a "Holiday Inn Express" city hotel with 160 rooms.
According to a Mobimo statement, more than half of the 129 apartments in the Mobimo part were let a few weeks after completion of construction. The marketing status of the commercial space is just under 70%.
Largest tenant: Swisscom
The largest tenant on the site is Swisscom. The company, with around 400 employees, occupies a total of 7,500 sqm of space spread over five floors. Other tenants include Electrolux, Fresenius Kabi, Migros, Bächli Bergsport, Heggli Reisen weltweit, Bucher Hair & Style, a gynecologist's office and a dentist, a branch of Medbase with a pharmacy on the first floor, the Hug bakery, and the Nooch and Jack's Cevap House restaurants.
A special feature of the quarter is the artwork "My elastic eye" by Raphael Hefti. The Biel-based artist has covered the floor in the Mattenhof with countless, microscopic glass beads that refract sunlight into the spectral colors and thus set aside a holographic, circular rainbow for the viewer's shadow.
According to the company, the Mobimo project meets the sustainability standards of SIA 2040 and the requirements of the 2,000-watt society. The CSA project achieves the Minergie ECO and Greenproperty Gold standards. (ah)
