Wohlen: Groundbreaking ceremony for logistics project
Ground was broken for two large warehouses in the Ferrowohlen industrial park. Eiffage Suisse is constructing the new buildings.
On the large hall area of Ferrowohlen in the western industrial area of Wohlen (AG), the construction of two warehouses with 250,000 cubic meters of space as well as an underground garage with 130 parking spaces has begun. Halls D3 and D4 are being built on a site of around 44,000 sqm and will have a floor area of 12,000 sqm. Eiffage Suisse (formerly Priora Generalunternehmung) is constructing the buildings as a total contractor.
Ferrowohlen will lease the two warehouses to an international cosmetics company. The company will set up a new distribution center there, where around 150 employees will work. The halls are scheduled to be ready for occupancy in September 2020.
Ferrowohlen's industrial park is located half in the municipal area of Wohlen and half in that of Villmergen. Since the shutdown of steel production in 1994, the company has been managing the approximately 200,000 sqm site and operates one of the largest industrial parks in German-speaking Switzerland there. In addition to four halls with a total of around 89,000 square meters of hall space for
production, warehousing and logistics, the portfolio also includes various outdoor areas and building land. (ah)
