Bern: Topping-out ceremony for the Moxy Hotel in Wankdorf
The topping-out ceremony for the second Moxy Hotel in Switzerland was celebrated in Bern's Wankdorf City. The opening is planned for spring 2020.
The Moxy Hotel will be housed in the three-part Trio building complex, which Swiss Mobiliar is realizing as the end investor together with Losinger Marazzi.
Trio will include a mix of uses including work, residential and commercial. Building 1, with 6,200 sq. m., will feature 1.5- to 3.5-room apartments and 20 long-stay apartments in the high-rise. In addition, there will be 4,300 sqm of office space and retail space on the first floor.
Building 2 will feature nearly 140 studios and shared rooms, as well as retail space on the first floor.
The Moxy Hotel is being built in Building 3 and will comprise 130 rooms. In addition, there will be 62 micro-apartments on the upper floors, which, like the Moxy, will be operated by SV Hotels, as well as retail space on the first floor. The total retail area spread over the three buildings is approximately 2,500 sqm.
The Moxy Hotel in Bern is the hotel chain's second location in Switzerland, along with Lausanne, and the first in German-speaking Switzerland. (ah)
