Zurich: BGS housing estate in Triemli to be renovated
The Sonnengarten building cooperative (BGS) wants to replace a large part of its housing estates in the "Stadtstück Triemli" in several stages. The winner of the project competition has now been chosen.
In the "Stadtstück Triemli" area, BGS is planning a phased replacement of its Goldacker 1 and 3 (construction sites 1A-C) and Wydäcker 1-3 estates. The terraced houses of the Goldacker 2 estate from 1948 with 54 apartments, on the other hand, are to be retained in the long term. The Goldacker area is listed in the Federal Inventory of Swiss Sites Worthy of Protection (ISOS).
The project competition for the Goldacker 1 and 3 sub-area was won by the Zurich-based consortium StudioBoA & Amadeo Linke with Gersbach Landschaftsarchitektur. Their winning project, Villy, envisages four to five-storey individual houses grouped together in groups of three, with slightly different shapes depending on the location. Connecting levels between the houses are intended to create meeting spaces.
Around 134 new apartments will be created. A double kindergarten, various common rooms and a day family care facility will be located on the ground floor at the common inner courtyards.
The target construction costs for the new buildings on construction site 1A are estimated at around CHF 53 million (BKP 1-9, incl. VAT). The start of construction for construction site 1A is planned for winter 2021/22. (ah)
