Buchs: Groundbreaking ceremony for commercial building
The groundbreaking ceremony for the first stage of the "Center for Precision Industry" was held in Buchs. A five-story commercial building is being built.

Lippuner Immobilien AG from Grabs is constructing the commercial building in the immediate vicinity of the Interstate University of Applied Sciences Buchs (NTB). Brusa Elektronik has been confirmed as the tenant; the company will locate up to 350 jobs at the site.
With the commercial building, Lippuner Immobilien is developing the first stage of the "Center for Precision Industry". The new building is being constructed on a site of just under 6,000 square meters and will provide space for 350 workplaces on five floors.
The anchor tenant Brusa Elektronik from Sennwald will locate its international development headquarters at the new site and also concentrate its international customer contacts here. The company currently employs around 200 people and has, among other things, designed the motor for the VW E-Golf.
The "Zentrum Präzisionsindustrie Alpenrheintal" is a project of the town of Buchs, the canton of St.Gallen, the NTB and the local community of Buchs. When the town of Buchs needed industrial building land in 2012, the canton enabled the zoning of a plot of land north of the NTB. However, only companies that have a connection to the technology areas of NTB or the RhySearch research and innovation center are allowed to settle there.
The Precision Industry Center is conceived as a place for several companies that also want to research, develop and produce together in the neighborhood of the NTB and RhySearch. According to information from the canton of St.Gallen, further stages are already being considered. (ah)
