A new bicycle and pedestrian bridge is to be built between Breitenrain and Länggasse in Bern. A possible route between Wylerfeld and Länggasse is now the focus of planning. The variant would enable a more direct access route to the bridge on the Breitenrain side, but buildings would have to be demolished to achieve this.

According to Bern's municipal council, this option has great potential in terms of urban space. An in-depth study is to be carried out by the end of 2020. It also states that the municipal council remains committed to avoiding the demolition of properties against the will of the owners wherever possible. For this reason, discussions will first be sought with the affected property owners. (ah)
