Zurich Airport expands for business aviation
With a new building construction project, Zurich Airport aims to meet the increasing demand for hangar space for business aviation.

Zurich Airport can no longer meet the demand for hangar space for business aviation, the airport company writes in a statement. This is due to changes in the business aviation segment and the increasingly larger aircraft types used for this purpose.
With the "Zone West; Building Construction including Apron and Access" project, the airport aims to meet the need for hangar space for larger aircraft and to construct a new handling building for business aviation.
According to the airport, the planned building has an area of 80 by 280 meters and a maximum height of 30 meters. On the landside, the building will be accessed along the Glatt River, with the Rohrstrasse to be extended by 750 meters. Additional parking spaces are also planned.
The plan approval application for the project will be open to the public from January 20 to February 18, 2020. (ah)
