The Baloise Group has acquired a site totaling around 35,000 square meters in Dübendorf (ZH), where it plans to build 500 apartments as well as commercial and green spaces. The first occupancy of the properties is scheduled for fall 2026.

With the acquisition of the Giessen site, the insurer wants to create "attractive and ecologically sustainable living space" in Dübendorf, says Matthias Henny, Chief Investment Officer of the Baloise Group. The apartments would be built to the Minergie-P-Eco standard and are intended to offer "space for individual living needs of a broad section of the population".

The Giessen site is easily accessible by public and private transport and is considered one of the most interesting development areas in the region, the company added. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. (ah)
