Chur: Building permit for cinema project
The city of Chur has issued the building permit for the long-planned large-scale cinema at the City West shopping center.
At the beginning of February 2020, the city of Chur granted the building permit to the construction company Kino Chur West for the construction of a new cinema center with parking garage and connecting passerelle to the shopping center City West. Domenig Immobilien AG is behind the project.
This is the second time that the construction permit for the project has been issued - the first permit had been declared invalid because no environmental impact assessment had been prepared.
The planned large-scale cinema in the west of Chur is hotly disputed. Actually, it was supposed to be opened already in mid-2018, but there were several objections and various courts - up to the Federal Court - had to deal with the project.
Construction of the cinema started in November 2018, but due to the invalidated building permit, construction was stopped in July 2019. (ah)
