The acquired properties have an excellent location and are well connected to public transport, Realstone says. The apartments are variable and compact, taking into account the needs of residents and changes in their lifestyles, it adds. The investment foundation aims to increase the value of the portfolio by investing in various renovation projects and exploiting the properties' densification potential.

According to the management strategy of the Board of Trustees, the investment foundation is to enter the rental real estate market in the cantons of Vaud, Geneva, Neuchâtel and Fribourg and build a diversified portfolio worth 500 million over five years. With the acquisition of the Geneva portfolio, a first step towards the realization of the strategy has been taken.

Realstone Fondation de Placement is aimed exclusively at pension funds. The investment vehicle Realstone Immobilier Résidentiel Suisse (RIRS) invests directly in a Swiss real estate portfolio, at least 70% of which consists of residential real estate. The target return on capital is approximately 3.5%. (ah)
