Westhive has set up around 140 workstations on Rosentalstrasse, right next to Messe Basel and near the Badischer Bahnhof train station. The focus is on flexibly rentable team offices, the company says. There is a lounge on the first floor of the building, and the location also has a small garden, various kitchenettes, showers, bicycle parking and storage facilities.

The Rosental Mitte site was successively acquired by the canton of Basel-Stadt in 2016 and 2019. It was long the headquarters of the Geigy company, and today houses various research and educational institutions as well as the headquarters of Syngenta. In the coming years, Rosental Mitte is to be put to a new use.

The house on Rosentalstrasse is just the first step for Westhive in Rosental Mitte, the company says. In two years, the coworking provider wants to move into another building in the immediate vicinity of the current one, where they will have more space available, it said.

In total, Westhive operates five locations with over 800 jobs. The Basel location is the starting signal for a Switzerland-wide expansion, the company says. (ah)
