Zurich: Alfred Müller AG plans residential development
On the site of the Ettenfeld tennis complex in Zurich-Seebach, Alfred Müller AG plans to build a development with 90 rental apartments.

In Zurich-Seebach, a new residential development is to be built on the site currently occupied by the Ettenfeld tennis complex. For this, however, the private design plan from the 1980s must be cancelled.
The approximately 2.7-hectare "Hohenstiglen" site is located on Schaffhauserstrasse and Stelzenstrasse in Zurich North, partly on the municipal territory of the City of Zurich and partly on that of the City of Opfikon. The use of the area is determined in the western part on Zurich municipal territory by the private design plan "Ettenfeld", which permits use for sports purposes only. The landowner Alfred Müller AG wants to build a residential complex with 90 rental apartments on the Schaffhauserstrasse/Stelzenstrasse area, which is in the residential zone, instead of the tennis hall. To do this, however, the design plan must be cancelled, which the Zurich City Council has requested of the municipal council.
A replacement for the tennis facility is to be created in the eastern area of the site on Opfikon soil. Alfred Müller AG wants to build a facility there with four indoor courts and four outdoor courts and lease it to the Bührle Tennis Club on a long-term basis. A new, coherent green and open space is to be created between the planned residential development and the tennis facility and made accessible to the public. (ah)
