Basel: Study contract for VoltaNord decided
The previously commercially used VoltaNord site, also known as the Lysbüchel site, is to become a new Basel urban district. The urban planning study contract for the site development has now been completed.
According to earlier information, around 2,000 to 3,000 jobs are to be created on the Lysbüchel site, as well as housing for 1,300 to 1,900 people. Last year, the landowners SBB Immobilien and Immobilien Basel-Stadt, as well as the planning office, commissioned an urban planning study involving seven planning teams, the results of which have now been announced.
Accordingly, a synthesis of the contributions of two planning teams will form the basis for the further planning of the building sites and public open spaces. According to a statement by the canton of Basel-Stadt, these are the contributions of the ARGE pan m Architekten / gud Architekten with Johann Reble Architekt, Schläpfer Carstensen Landschaftsarchitekten, Basler & Hofmann Ingenieure, Bernhard Böhm and Dr. Nils Guettler (junior team) and the team jessenvollenweider architektur with Stauffer Rösch Landschaftsarchitekten, Martin Frei and Cabane Partner. Details will be announced by the canton at a later date due to the Corona pandemic. (ah)
