Bern: Weltpost Park is ready for occupancy
After residents moved into the first of the three buildings at Weltpost Park in Bern in December 2019, the other two residential buildings are now ready for occupancy.
Weltpost Park is a project by SSA Architekten. Three residential buildings with a total of 170 apartments are being built on a site previously used only for offices and services on the Murifeld near Bern. The project was developed by SPS Swiss Prime Site and sold to Allianz Suisse Immobilien in 2018.
Two of the residential buildings are in the mid-range rental segment, while one offers apartments in the affordable segment. All buildings are Minergie-Eco certified, were built in accordance with the SIA energy efficiency path (SIA 2040) and the energy required is generated entirely from renewable sources, including solar energy. Heating, including hot water, is provided by four ice storage tanks combined with wastewater heat recovery. According to the architects, this is the largest plant of its kind in Switzerland. (ah)
