Zurich: ABZ and BEP submit design plan for lakeside railway stations
The building cooperatives ABZ and BEP are planning the Seebahnhöfe development with 350 apartments in the Aussersihl-Hard district of Zurich.
With the new development, the Allgemeine Baugenossenschaft Zürich (ABZ) and the Baugenossenschaft des eidg. Personals (BEP) want to replace their housing estates and create around 350 new, affordable apartments near Bullingerplatz in Kreis 4.
Currently, around 500 people live in the almost 100-year-old housing estates; in the future, there will be up to 1,000. In addition to apartments, studios, commercial space, daycare centers and green spaces are also planned. 20% of the apartments will be subsidized.
ABZ and BEP have submitted the private design plan for the project to the city of Zurich, and it must be approved by the city and municipal councils as well as the canton following the public circulation. According to the cooperatives, construction is not expected to begin until summer 2023 at the earliest. (ah)
