The Cour de Gare project is an important link in the redevelopment of the station center, the city of Sion says. The complex will act as a hub between the historic city and the Ronquoz 21 district located south of the SBB tracks.

The development comprises 5,600 square meters for commercial use, 10,400 square meters of office space, 300 apartments, a hotel with around 100 rooms and a large concert and congress hall with 600 seats. The space will be created in seven buildings, plus an underground garage with more than 600 parking spaces.

After the building permit was issued at the beginning of June, preparatory work is scheduled to begin in July. The laying of the foundation stone is planned for this fall, and the new buildings are to be inaugurated in spring 2024.

The investment group CSA Real Estate Switzerland provides the financing for the project, HRS Real Estate is in charge of the realization and Comptoir Immobilier is responsible for the marketing. The city of Sion is partner for the concert and congress hall.

According to media reports, the investment volume is CHF 225 million, of which the city of Sion is contributing CHF 25 million for the construction of the concert and congress hall. The new district is also intended to make Sion more attractive for tourists who want to reach the surrounding mountain resorts. A gondola lift connecting Sion with four valleys is also planned for this purpose.
