Swiss Prime Site Immobilien has been developing the site in Schlieren under the name JED (Join. Explore. Dare) since 2017, with the aim of offering companies from the technology, information and engineering sectors an "attractive, inspiring and collaborative environment," according to the real estate company. To this end, several catering and event facilities will be set up in the two existing buildings by the beginning of 2021, as well as meeting zones open to the public.

75% of the currently available space (24,000 sqm) has been leased, Swiss Prime Site reports. The leased space was handed over to the anchor tenant Zühlke at the beginning of April 2020. The engineering and consulting company occupies a total of around 9,000 sqm in the former printing hall and in part of the original logistics platform.

A new building of around 14,000 square meters is to be built on a land reserve in the western part of the site by the end of 2022. According to Swiss Prime Site Immobilien, the legally binding building permit was obtained at the end of May. The new building will be of solid construction and will operate without heating, ventilation, cooling or the supply of external energy. The temperature in the interior rooms will be a constant 22 to 26 degrees Celsius, the real estate company adds. After completion, the building will have both particularly large, contiguous areas and smaller areas that can be easily subdivided. (ah)
