Start of construction for Halter project in Neuhausen
Halter AG has begun preliminary work on the Industrieplatz residential and commercial building in Neuhausen am Rheinfall.
The eleven-storey building is being constructed on Industrieplatz, right next to Neuhausen's railway station. It will comprise 76 rental apartments and commercial space on the ground floor. Halter is responsible for the project development. The general contractor is Eiffage Suisse, the general contractor is ZSL Invest. The client is the federal pension fund Publica.
The project emerged from a study commission carried out in 2015, which not only sought a concrete building project for a private investor, but was also intended to create an indicative project for an overarching neighbourhood plan. The contract was won by the architectural consortium ARGE Blättler Dafflon Architekten and Tony Freton Architects from London with the design "Neighbourhood".
The apartments will have between 1.5 and 4.5 rooms and are also aimed at commuters due to their proximity to the train station. According to a statement from Halter, rents will range from around CHF 850 for a 1.5 room apartment to around CHF 2,100 for a 4.5 room apartment. Rentals are expected to start in 2021. Occupancy is scheduled for mid-2022. (ah)
