The Nylon-6 factory in the southern part of Viscosistadt in Emmen is being renovated and redesigned. The original buildings, which were constructed in the first half of the 1960s, will be retained. All buildings and components in steel construction that were added later will be demolished except for the first floor. Viscosistadt AG started the deconstruction work at the end of June.

In the course of the construction work, six double-story large halls will be built, and towards the south the building will regain its former height. On the south side, a parking garage will be added at the level of the basement. Above this, a public outdoor space will be created, the new Decora Terrace, which will later form a landscaped courtyard between the Viscosistadt areas and the new buildings of the Credit Suisse 4Viertel project. The new building line on the south side will receive a new facade, and the facade on the north side will be completed. It will then appear in the same style along its entire length - more than 110 meters. According to the development plan, additions of storeys are possible on buildings 740 and 741.

According to Viscosistadt AG, the new parking garage should be built by spring 2021, and the extension on the south side and the facade will be completed by the end of 2022. Within the next three to four years, the construction on the north side is to be implemented, thus completing the building according to the original plans. (ah)
