Griesser AG, a market-leading producer of sun and weather protection for windows and terraces, is planning the demolition and reconstruction of a factory building, the expansion of an existing production hall, the replacement of an aging powder coating plant and the installation of an automated warehouse at its headquarters. In doing so, the company says it aims to boost productivity and increase energy efficiency. As Urs Neuhauser, CEO of Griesser, says, the construction project should be completed by summer 2021. After that, the new equipment will be installed and put into operation.

In the first construction phase, a new access road including a plant bridge to the construction site is planned. The second construction phase is expected to start in September of this year: demolition and new construction of the hall for the new coating plant as well as the extension of the neighboring hall for the storage of long material. In the third construction phase, Griesser plans to install a new powder coating line in the new building and to add a honeycomb storage facility in the hall extension next door. The new building will also include a photovoltaic system, which the company plans to use to cover around 10% of its electricity requirements in the future.

Griesser intends to maintain production operations throughout the construction period. Among other things, parts of the production will be compressed and relocated to another building. (ah)
