Biberist: Schöngrün quarter is fully let
Despite the Covid 19 pandemic, all 160 apartments in the new Schöngrün quarter in Biberist (SO) have been rented out as of September 1. The project was realized by Axa, with Privera in charge of marketing.
Two years after the start of construction work, the first residents moved into the new Schöngrün neighborhood directly on the city border with Solothurn at the beginning of August 2020. Axa has realized a new quarter for over 300 people on the 44,000 square meter site, where the "Gut im Schöngrün" was located in the 16th century and the cantonal penal institution until 2014. A total of 160 apartments with 1.5 to 5.5 rooms have been created. According to the designs of ERP Architekten, two horseshoe-shaped new buildings have been constructed, which frame a green area.
A special feature of the project is a generation house that has been set up at the Quartierplatz. Residents each have their own 2.5- or 3.5-room apartment with eat-in kitchen, loggia, bathroom and storage space. A large communal kitchen on the first floor, a dining and living lounge, and a garden terrace with a fireplace are shared.
In the middle of the new quarter there is also a protected historic ensemble of three buildings: the manor house, the Stöckli and the barn. According to Axa, the buildings will be gently renovated until spring 2021 and then put to new uses. The Gutshof, for example, will house a daycare center and a café. The neighborhood will also include a small store, an outdoor fitness trail, a large courtyard with fruit trees and a bouldering hall by Bimano. In addition, there will be services such as an electric car for rent and a tenant app, and various community spaces with overnight accommodation and urban gardening will be set up. (ah)
