The new quarter is located at the junction between Geneva, Lancy and Carouge; it is being realised by the non-profit foundation FPCL together with other developers. The first stage has created housing for 1,200 residents. 78% of the housing stock is non-profit housing, but there are also condominiums and apartments for the elderly and students. The second phase of the project will see the construction of five more residential buildings between 2022 and 2023, and there are also plans for a 7,000sqm park and a school.

The quarter will comprise a total of 640 apartments, leisure facilities and service areas and will complete the first phase of the urban development around the Lancy Pont-Rouge station. The investment costs are estimated at CHF 195 million.

The FPLC (Fondation pour la promotion du logement bon marché et de l'habitat coopératif) realises non-profit housing in the Canton of Geneva. To this end, it acquires land and develops it in order to transfer it to housing cooperatives in exchange for building rights or to sell it to cantonal or communal real estate foundations. (ah)
