Zurich: Building Appeal Court Stops Major Credit Suisse Pension Fund Project
In March, the city of Zurich gave the green light for the redesign of Brunaupark. Now the cantonal building appeal court has stopped the Credit Suisse Pension Fund's project due to excessive noise pollution.

One of the largest construction projects currently underway in Zurich has been halted by the cantonal building appeals court. The Credit Suisse Pension Fund is planning new replacement buildings with around 500 apartments on the Brunaupark site in Wiedikon. With the exception of one building, the existing buildings are to be demolished; the existing 240 tenants would have to find new accommodation.
At the beginning of September, the cantonal building appeals court overturned the building permit issued by the City of Zurich in March - as reported by several media outlets, on the grounds that the number of apartments affected by noise was "extraordinarily high" at 95 and that it would therefore be wrong to relax the noise protection requirements for the affected apartments in view of the dimensions of the entire construction project.
