Oftringen: Specialty store A1 opens after repositioning
The A1 regional shopping centre in Oftringen (AG), which belongs to Swiss Prime Site, has reopened after conversion and repositioning. The largest anchor tenant is the DIY chain Bauhaus.
Since the end of 2018, Swiss Prime Site has repositioned the shopping centre, which is geared towards small-scale retail for everyday use, as a specialist DIY store. After around 18 months of construction, Bauhaus has now moved into its space as the last and largest anchor tenant and opened the 16,000 sqm store on 26 September 2020. Other tenants at A1 include Aldi Suisse, Media Markt, Mobilezone, Gidor Coiffeur and a bistro.
In the view of Peter Lehmann, CEO of Swiss Prime Site Immobilien, the repositioning of the site has created a new urban meeting place for the region. (ah)
