Losinger Marazzi builds commercial property in Bern
In the ESP Wankdorf, Losinger Marazzi will develop and realize a plus-energy building with commercial and service areas.
The Bern 131 project is being built on a site at Stauffacherstrasse 131 in Bern, which belongs to the Burgergemeinde Bern and is being given in building rights. The site is exposed at the northern entrance to the city and is surrounded by traffic; the Wankdorf train station is nearby.
The triangular plot is well utilized by the new building designed by Atelier 5 from Bern. Instead of a single-story logistics hall, which is currently located on the site, a plus-energy building in timber construction is to be built. According to Losinger Marazzi, the project will include five stories above ground plus a parapet, as well as a parking garage and storage and technical rooms in the basement. The total floor area amounts to around 21,000 sqm.
The building application for the project is to be submitted in spring 2021, and the signing of the TU works contract is planned by summer 2021. Construction is scheduled to start at the end of 2021; occupation is planned for the end of 2023. (ah)
