Paracelsus Hospital Richterswil applies for debt-restructuring moratorium
The Paracelsus Hospital in Richterswil (ZH) has run into difficulties due to the Corona pandemic. The hospital properties belong to Senioresidenz AG.

The Covid 19 crisis has taken its toll on Paracelsus Hospital Richterswil (PSR). According to the hospital, the situation was already difficult before Corona, but has now worsened due to the loss of revenue caused by the pandemic. In order to continue operating the hospital, it plans to enter into cooperative agreements with other providers. If it is not possible to find cooperation partners, the hospital will be gradually closed.
Oncology, the Paracelsus Pharmacy in Richterswil and the Paracelsus Center Sonnenberg in Zurich are to be retained in any case - either within the hospital with a cooperation partner or outside the hospital in other organizational units.
The owner of the hospital properties is Senioresidenz AG. The company acquired the hospital building, the PSR Villa, the Göldi Pavillon administration building and the Chrummbächli Medical Center at the end of 2019. The PSR itself is a subsidiary of NSN Medical AG, which manages clinics, outpatient surgery centers, practices and medical service companies.
When the properties were purchased, far-reaching and long-term rent guarantees were agreed with PSR as the tenant and NSN Medical as the previous owner, Senioresidenz reports. The rental income of the four properties with a total annual rent of CHF 2 million is secured by an irrevocable bank guarantee from Zürcher Kantonalbank. In addition, there is a payment guarantee from NSN Medical as patron up to the maximum amount of 2 million. (ah)
