New building planned on the Tech Cluster Zug
The Metall Zug Group plans to build a combined production and office building on the South Gate site of the Zug Tech Cluster. SHL Medical has been confirmed as the tenant.
According to the Metall Zug Group, a study contract has been awarded together with SHL Medical AG for the development of the Südtor site in the south of the Tech Cluster Zug area. A combined production and office building is to be built, in which SHL Medical intends to manufacture drug delivery systems for the pharmaceutical industry from 2024.
The Südtor construction site is the first area of the Tech Cluster to be opened up to third parties outside the Metall Zug Group and the V-ZUG Group. V-ZUG will withdraw from the construction site in the next two years, as the company no longer needs this space. At the same time, HandwerkStadt Zug will move to the first floor of the Mobility Hub Zug - freeing up space to construct the new office and production building for SHL Medical.
The Tech Cluster Zug is being built on the main site of V-ZUG AG in Zug and is intended to set a signal for the future of industry in Switzerland. V-ZUG is currently modernizing its production and will concentrate it in the north of the site. This will free up space on which to locate additional industrial companies, technology-related services, start-ups, and research and educational institutions. (ah)
