UBS Sima launched an architectural competition in 2019 in the form of a two-stage study commission for the new replacement building "Les Acacias" in Geneva. According to UBS, eight studies were submitted in the first stage, three of which were examined in greater depth in the second stage starting in January 2020. The winner is now the project "Les Acacias" by the architecture firms Magizan and CCHE in collaboration with Losinger Marazzi.

The project envisages around 350 apartments as well as commercial space on the first floor and around 170 parking spaces on two underground levels. Minergie Eco certification is planned, as is a connection to the GeniLac network, which cools inner-city buildings near the lake with CO2-neutral lake water.

According to UBS, construction is scheduled to start in the spring of 2022 and be completed in the summer of 2025. The investment volume amounts to around CHF 175 million. (ah)
