The self-storage trend as a flexible storage solution also seems to be gaining ground in Switzerland. The Swiss self-storage provider Zebrabox has announced the opening of its tenth location in January 2021.

According to the company, 200 storage units will be built in a first phase on a total of 1,800 square meters at a location close to the freeway in the Töss district of Winterthur, with a further 200 units to be added in a subsequent phase. All the storage rooms are reportedly air-conditioned, guarantee a high level of security and are accessible around the clock. Heating and cooling are provided by a heat pump.

The location in Töss, close to the city, could be reached quickly from the center as well as from the highway. Directly accessible elevators are designed to ensure short distances and high efficiency, and a lifting platform is also available. Customers can rent the right Zebrabox for them online at the location of their choice, equip it shortly afterwards and - as will be the case in Winterthur - contact customer service on site via a robot, explains Christian Schmutz, founder and CEO of Zebrabox.
