Bouygues Energies & Services and Helion currently occupy different buildings in the Riverside district in Zuchwil near Solothurn, which belongs to the Swiss Prime Investment Foundation (SPA). The new building at the existing location is intended, among other things, to accommodate Helion's growth, Bouygues says. The new site will also serve as a centre of excellence for renewable energy for Bouygues Energies & Services. To this end, the company intends to combine technologies such as photovoltaics, electricity storage, heat pumps and electromobility under one roof.

The plan is to construct a new building on top of an existing and used warehouse building. The structure will be reminiscent of a nest and will be realized as a light wood and glass construction, Bouyges informs. The new headquarters will also be equipped with a photovoltaic system, and the electricity produced during the day, if not used directly, will be fed into an electricity storage system. Helion is also planning various charging stations for electric cars on the site, which will preferably be powered by electricity produced on the site.

Construction is scheduled to start in the Riverside district in early 2021. The new building is expected to be ready for occupancy from spring 2022, Bouygues said. (ah)
